News From Greenfield Park Historical Society

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to make sure that everyone was aware of the DVD (or VHS) produced by Paul Boudreau of the Greenfield Park Historical Society. It contains film footage taken in the Park during the 1930s and 40s. You will see Southern Counties trains heading towards St. Lambert, horses galloping along Empire Ave. near St. Paul's Church, the town's firetruck racing along Churchill to put out a mock blaze at the old Town Hall, children cycling along unpaved Third St., plus scenes of children skiing away from Royal George, and walking away from St. Edmund's school, as well as children gatherinng wood for the Dominion Day bonfires. Paul has interwoven film footage and old photographs to show what life was like in the Park in its first four decades. Families like the Andriens who have already ordered and received their DVD were thrilled to spot their parents in the film. Maybe you too will discover yourself as a child or your parents or grandparents in the film.
The DVD is more than an hour in length and begins with film taken in the last ten years to show: activities engaged in by the children of today in The Park, and the changes that have taken place recently.
The cost of the DVD is $20.00 which includes shipping to you. There is no tax as the historical society is a non-profit organization. We're sure you'll really enjoy the film and will tell your friends about it as well.
To order send an e-mail to Paul Boudreau, and you'll have your DVD as quick as Canada Post can deliver it to you.
Paul's e-mail address is boud145@total.net
If you've already know about this film I'm sorry for bringing it again to your attention. Please accept my apology.
John Riley
